Important organisations and contact persons

To compile a complete list of the actors, the main ministries were visited and their activities in connection with Tisa valley were studied.

The progress made by them is appreciable, although their activities are mainly focused on producing different studies that stand alone even though they are important. A comprehensive project has not yet been undertaken.

The main potential stakeholders and their contact data are listed in annex 4.

Description of the possible national focal point

The national focal point representative is from the Ministry of Interior Affairs Catastrophe Prevention. This institution has a general view of the Tisa valley as it managed the defence works during the natural and industrial catastrophe along the river between 1998-2002, as well as the reconstruction of damaged properties. The Ministry seems rather neutral with regard to measuring the weight of the project and the importance of different sectors.
